Plein air – Algars Mill and Manor

Two-acre woodland garden divided by river Frome. Many unusual mature trees and shrubs. There is a small copse with steps leading down to an abandoned quarry area, planted with rhododendrons. A pleasant riverside walk, banks planted with a variety of dogwoods etc, leads to a wooden bridge crossing the river. Native plants mixed with collections of magnolias and camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas, eucalyptus. Directions: Turn South off Iron Acton bypass B4059, past village green & White Hart pub, 200yds, then over level Xing. No access from Frampton Cotterell via lane; ignore SatNav. Parking at Algars Manor. Owner will provide tea/coffee/cake for a donation.
