Primal Seeing with James Tatum

James paintings are the direct result of his observations and experiences on actual locations. All of his paintings begin en plein air with drawings, water colours or acrylic sketches. The larger works are then completed in his studio either in acrylics or oils. He paints on paper, board, and canvas.

James will demonstrate how to see reality (landscape etc.) abstractly, and to master major shapes, tones and relationships to simplify your paintings.
